Abstract

INTRODUCTION

OBJECTIVE

METHODS

The study group consisted children between 2-12 years of age (n = 147) who admitted with poor appetite without any chronic disease, the control group (n = 59) consisted of healthy children admitted with acute upper respiratory tract infection.

RESULTS

In the study group; height and weight percentiles were significantly lower, household income was less, only breast milk feeding duration was less than 6 months and starting solid foods time was later (p <0.05). The training of the mother's knitting, short-term intake of breast milk, the late initiation of solid food increases the risk poor appetite, however large family structure and high income level were protective factors.
