Abstract
INTRODUCTION
The aim of this study is to determine the ideas and practices of mothers with a child aged 0-3 related to sing lullabies.
METHODS
This study was done in a family health center. 145 mothers were interviewed. Data were collected by questionnaire. Before starting the study, ethics, institutions approval and verbal consent of the mothers were taken. Data is evaluated by the computer environment using number and percentage distributions.
RESULTS
The average age of mothers who participated in the study was 29.6 + 6.0 years. While 88.3% of the mothers were singing lullaby, all of the mothers were thinking that singing lullabies are positive effects. The majority of the mothers said that lullabies positively affect the mental health of children (86.9%) and in early speech (83.4%). The least known about the benefits of lullabies was that lullaby effects on nutrition (16.6%). When asked about the actions they take children to sleep during the preparation, 66.2% of mothers said they told lullaby.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
Although mother knew the importance of lullabies, they were moderate in the application.
