Abstract
INTRODUCTION
Persistent Vernal keratoconjunctivitis is a chronicle and inflammatory and sight-threating disease of the eyelid and anterior segment of the eye. Topical Cyclosprine-A is an important alternative in these situations.
METHODS
Seven male patients between the age of 8-17 are evaluated retrospective in our clinic. The subjective complaints, the course of the disease and the response to the therapy were recorded.
RESULTS
The complaints and the symptoms decreased one week later. Three months later, there were no complaints in any patient and the cobblestone formation disappeared and converted to follicular hypertrophy. The patients are still under follow-up in our clinic
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
Our belief is that topical Cyclosporine-A is a well-tolerated and reliable option in patients with persistent vernal keratoconjunctivitis. Further investigations are necessary to determine its effect on relapses and how long it can be supress the disorder.
